Alberta Pension Reform…
Have your voices heard!
Exclusive invitation for ACPM Members.
Many jurisdictions have implemented reforms to their pension rules – impacting single employer, multi-employer and public sector pension plans. Many questions come to mind from these reforms:
- Have they had the intended effects?
- What lessons have been learned, and what improvements can be recommended from these learnings?
- Are there still other opportunities to be explored?
In the summer of 2022, the Government of Alberta engaged with the pension industry on ways to “modernize, innovate and reduce red tape” for Alberta registered pension plans. It has been two years since that consultation and ACPM wants to hear from YOU! As ACPM members and key stakeholders of Alberta’s defined benefit and defined contribution plans, your insights are essential. This is your opportunity to highlight developments and priorities that Alberta’s legislators and regulator should focus on, such as:
- reducing administrative burdens and ways to improve efficiencies
- sustainable funding requirements
- investment considerations (ESG, leverage, alternatives)
- pension risk management, liability discharge rules
- and much more…
As an ACPM member, you are invited to this exclusive roundtable discussion with industry peers and pension experts, to help shape and drive meaningful improvements in Alberta’s pension environment.
And the timing couldn’t be more perfect to have your voices heard, with ACPM as your voice and advocate, as we understand the Government is in the process of moving forward on pension reform. Feedback received from the event will be shared with Alberta Treasury Board and Finance for their consideration.
